Plant and equipment used in the generation of electricity,
production of steam, or part of a process needs to be
operated in an effective manner.
The operating staff must pay due regard to working
in a safe, efficient and environmentally acceptable
manner, thus ensuring optimum performance of the plant
and equipment. A sound understanding of the particular
process is paramount to ensuring continued effective
operation.
Aztec Technical Services has developed a number of
operational training programmes and operations skills
training for a variety of areas, which are part of ensuring
effective operation. These operations skills programmes
and training courses are particularly aimed at operational
staff in power generation, combined heat and power and
process utility industries.
Operations Skills Training is available for staff in
the following plant and system areas:
- Combined Cycle Power Plant CCCP;
- Fossil fired power plant - coal and oil;
- Nuclear power - conventional plant;
- Combined Heat and Power Plant - gas turbine and
IC engine powered;
- Process Utility Plant - package or small boiler,
small steam turbines, steam distribution systems.
Operations Skills Training is available for persons
at all levels and includes the relevant health, safety
and environmental input.
Aztec Technical Services has access to plant simulators
which may be used to enhance the quality of operations
skills training by providing "hands on" opportunities
to learn procedures and actions associated with start-up,
shut down, routine operation and plant faults and emergencies.
