We offer a comprehensive range of gas maintenance training course.

All our gas maintenance training is delivered at the client’s site by highly experienced trainers who have many years of knowledge and industry expertise. The courses are supported with high quality visual aids, manuals and more to ensure staff get the most out of the course.

New Starters Cat 3 – Domestic, Commercial, LPG, Catering

The new starter course is an intensive 4 week full time course, followed by 10 weeks off site. Consisting of basic gas training to give the candidate a foundation of knowledge and understanding of gas principles. At the end of the 4 weeks the candidate will have to sit a practical and theoretical assessment. Having completed the basic training and assessment the candidate has 10 weeks to produce a portfolio of on-site gas work. To successfully pass this course you must complete the course work/off site assessments within 6 months of the commencement date.

Gas Safety Supervisors and Managers

Gas safety supervisors course – background examples of reportable situations under riddor – Landlords to arrange for all gas appliances to be safety checked The supervisor/manager courses are tailored made to suit your specific requirements.

The course includes:

  • Who is exempt from the regulations
  • Safe gas combustion
  • Flue tests (reference BS5440: Part 1: 1990)
  • Methods of test, testing for spillage
  • Extracts from the regulations – Qualification and supervision, duty of employer
  • Management of gas contracts
  • Steps to ensure the safe operation of a gas appliance
  • The employment of corgi registered contractors - monitoring the contract, use of the client's own employees.

OFTEC Assessments

  • OFT 101 – domestic/light commercial commissioning and servicing. Single assessment
  • OFT 105E – domestic/light commercial installation. Single assessment
  • OFT 600A – oil storage tank installation. Single assessment

This course is for gas engineers who are working out of scope in the gas industry on touring caravans.
